Dr. Berry received her Bachelor's degree at St. John's College and her Doctorate at Albany Medical College. Dr. Berry has been practicing in the Syracuse community since 1995. Dr. Berry is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynocologists. The scope of her practice includes GYN surgery and obstetrics. Dr. Berry strives to provide quality care to her patients while empowering women to be proactive participators in their own health care. Her holistic approach to medicine includes developing a unique treatment plan for each patient that incorporates traditonal medicine, alternative therapies or combinations of both. She sees patients in the Syracuse and Liverpool offices.
Dr. Nguyen received his Bachelor's degree at St. George's School of Medicine and completed his Residency at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Nguyen has been practicing in New York State since 2011. Dr. Nguyen is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. Dr. Nguyen encourages a wellness model for his patients. His practice includes comprehensive GYN care and surgery as well as comprehensive obstetrics.
Terry Bruneau is a Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years experience in women's health care. She is a graduate of Crouse School of Nursing and Community General Hospital's Nurse Practitioner Program. Terry is a wife and mother of 2 adult daughters. In her spare time she enjoys wild crafting, gardening and metaphysical studies. She is an herbalist, a reflexologist and has many years of experience working with and teaching a variety of energy healing modalities. Her goal is to empower those she works with to find their own well being by supporting whatever path they choose. Terry works out of the Liverpool office.
Gina Pucello is a Family Nurse Practitioner graduating magna cum laude from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2017 with a Masters of Science in Nursing. Gina received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College in 2012. Gina continues to foster her longtime dream of caring for women with a variety of healthcare needs. Gina was born and raised in Syracuse, graduating from Westhill High School and enjoys spending time with her family and husband, walking her dog, traveling abroad, and spending time at the lake. She strives to become a bilingual healthcare provider and is continually working on Spanish language skills. It is her honor to serve the women in the Syracuse community and to create a trusting, safe, enjoyable environment for women to seek care and feel empowered to make choices involving their mental and physical wellbeing.
As a physician assistant with more than 25 years experience in women's health, Rita brings a wide range of knowledge to our practice. Rita enjoys caring for women in all stages of their reproductive lives with a gentle, compassionate approach. She completed her undergraduate work at Cornell University and her Physician Assistant Masters program at Northeastern University. Rita is a wife and mother of one adult son. In her free time she enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, and volunteering.
Janet Ortolani, CNM, has been a midwife since 2002, serving women in the New York metropolitan area and Long Island until relocating to the Syracuse area in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University and her Midwifery Certificate from Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Janet’s experience in Women’s Health began almost twenty years ago as a La Leche League Leader, Childbirth Educator, and Doula. Her experiences with childbearing women and families have served to reinforce her philosophies about the power of the birthing process and the impact childbirth has on a woman’s personal development. Through an emphasis on patient education and a holistic approach to patient care, Janet endeavors to encourage women to strive for their full potential.
Alia Rezek joins Cathy J. Berry and Associates both as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. After graduating in 2006 from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Human Services, she decided to follow in her parent's footsteps and joined the Peace Corps. She served for two years in Togo, West Africa. Through her experience, she decided she wanted to become a midwife. After returning home, she received her Bachelors in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Northern Virginia. Although women's health was always her first love, she realized the value that experience in the nursing field would bring to her advanced practice. She worked for over 5 years as a neuroscience nurse at Upstate University Hospital while she continued to work towards achieving her goal of becoming a midwife. She received her Master's Degree as a Nurse Midwife and her Post Master's certificate as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University in 2016. Alia strives to provide women with the tools for self-advocacy and decision-making about their bodies and to work to help to normalize childbirth and breastfeeding.
